New IPhone

I replaced my IPhone 14 with an IPhone 17. I deleted the iPhone 14 from my radio but when I try to add the IPhone 17, it still shows up as the IPhone 14. Did I screw up somehow?

My guess is you “restored from backup” when you got your new phone and in your IOS settings the phone is still named ‘iPhone 14’.

check to see if that’s the case and then try re adding to the car

Remove the existing phone from SYNC.

On your iPhone 17, tap on Settings, scroll down to General, tap on General, tap About, under Name change to iPhone 17.

Pair your iPhone to SYNC.

Yes you definitely screwed up, you bought an iPhone LOL
