I don't believe the 2011 Edge was ever intended to be driven off-road like the Bronco Sport.
the one thing that did flag my interest
the housing appears to have a sloped trough at the vent on this unit
almost as if someone knew the potential existed for water intrusion
the video poster mentioned "puking gear oil"
but my thoughts are that it was not for gear oil barf

TY Mark!
this is what I had been searching to find
if this is the case (pun)
the dual vent application on the fire wall is back to the drawing board
relieved to see there just may be a properly positioned case vent

bonus pic
drain plug
will need to confirm this upcoming oil change

My mechanic diagnosed that I do need the new vent hose. At the time he said it was on backorder so we went ahead and changed the rear differential fluid. But that only improved the shuttering slightly. Would that indicate that I need to have the rear differential unit replaced? I’m 24,000 miles out of warranty. So I’m out of pocket. Any advice is appreciated.
I can not stand dealerships. This is my first and probably last Ford!

rubber hose extensions
that's all it amounts to
recall similar modification applied to high pressure fuel pump leak
sorry mr kong
we'll put you on a list
that response was almost a year in the making for a remedy
these rubber hoses
rare as a unicorn
kong solution
remove terminal screen from existing hose
add rubber hose purchased from corner hardware store
sleeve and shrink wrap connection point of old to new
insert screen into new section of rubber hose
good to go until parts come in
If the issue is merely the vent location as it appears, I don't see why extending and rerouting the current hose wouldn't be an easy solution.

Mr. Kong, do you recall what size hose this modification requires?
