After opening up the hood I realized there was no engine cover. After looking into it with the salesman who sold me the vehicle, I was told that Ford had a shortage of these and then I was told Ford had no intention to replace those. The reason being was that it was supposedly found by Ford that the absence of these actually helped with cooling of the engine. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed true or should I really push for the dealership to provide this.

Think about it....if that were the case, wouldn't Ford be telling every one to take their engine cover off, or have some kind of recall...

Think about it...it's a piece of plastic window dressing...don't waste your time. So many have burned countless hours bitching about it...horse is dead, stick is broke...stop the beating for the love of God.
I'll give him a pass. They just joined and might not have seen the plethora of threads on this "issue".
