That's great. I haven't exercised the BS' navi system much, but I always upgrade map. When I got my 2019 F-350, the map set in the navi was absolutely brutal. I've never really used a navigation system before or since that simply wasn't reliable for getting you to your destination.

After about a year, though, I upgraded the maps and it's been great ever since. It's weird though, because I still will double-check routes against Google Maps when going places I've never been. After being jerked around for a few months, I'm literally still trying build my trust back with Ford navi, 3 years later.

Anyway, the short story is that I highly recommend upgrading maps whenever you can.

Has anyone successfully installed the current Navigation Map update that became available today 8/14/2023 on the Ford website?

I installed the Navigation Map update on a known good 32GB USB Device that I formatted (exFAT) today. This is the same USB Device Ford sent me for the prior Navigation update.

I started the vehicle then inserted the USB Device into the USB-A port below the 8” Display.. immediately I got MEM_ERR03 displayed.

For that error, I will need to do the Master Reset then insert the USB Device and try the install again. (Seems likely the rwdata partition full issue with Sync 3.4.22251 may be interfering with the Navigation Map update)

Are all map updates free? Or do you only get the first one as a taste and then they charge for future ones? Maybe this seems an odd question, but my last vehicle was a BMW where that was the case, so just wondering. Thanks.

Some people say Nav map digital downloads are free for 5 years and others say one digital download is free

when I bought my ‘22 Badlands with the premium package including navigation the documentation said free map (digital) updates for 5 years but after I installed NA 2 22 this week the website said the one free digital download was used up. Ford isn’t very consistent on the topic of Nav map costs (except the purchased USB version being currently $40).

Yes, your one free digital download of NA 2 22 is used up. If you desire an additional download of NA 2 22, you will need to purchase the USB flash drive version of NA 2 22 for $40.

Ah, ok. Even at $40 that seems cheap to me compared to my previous experiences. Thanks!
