I installed the JCR skid, and did it by driving both driver's side tires up on ramps. You could do the same thing with jack stands. I've since purchased another set of ramps (at an estate sale) which makes it easier to work underneath with both sides up.

I'm not familiar with the HRG skid, but the hardest part of my installation was removing the gas tank skid. It is attached with LocTite. I had to very carefully heat the bolts with a mini butane torch to get them off. I had a fan running to hopefully blow any gas fumes away from the torch and me.

Drilling through the pinch welds was easy once I purchased some carbon bits from Amazon. I also found that I needed a sked plate for my catalytic converter. If you're in the ruts, you're going to be scraping it on the rocks between the ruts.
