That’s what happened yesterday (according to my now disabled FordPass). Mine (and most likely ours) were driven all over the place, given more fuel, and then pulled into the factory where they did some mystical magic, reset my FordPass (most likely installed the missing micro-chip), and ta-da, I am finally in transit. We’re all on the way, just a matter of a brief amount of time!Just so everyone is aware, they try to build the vehicle complete. Meaning if they have 200 chips in inventory, they will align the production so the first 200 get those chips. I’m assuming their batches come in weekly or less. If a few batches are delayed, they move production around to make things work. They try to keep the line moving so just because the car before you got built, it doesn’t mean they have or don’t have all the same options. Just means they ran out as yours came through.
Someone stated they don’t schedule or start until all the parts are there. That’s not the case, they have inventory plans that expect parts on certain days. If they don’t get there, depending on what part it is, they rearrange the builds or in the case of these chips, may build without with a plan to add later. That normally isn’t done in the same spot on the line. It’s done completely separately.
