Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone else has tried connecting old iPods to their system - I found one thread about an iPod Classic that couldn't connect (my iPod Classic 160 GB connects just fine to the system) but they didn't seem to have much success identifying the issue of the "This USB device is not supported. Please Remove!" message.
My iPod Nano is an 8 GB, somewhere in the 2006 vintage. It's worked in every vehicle I've had, including my mom's 2013 Ford Escape with (probably) the original Sync software. Its software version is 1.1.3.
My iPod Classic is the 2007 vintage and plugs in just fine in the car. Its software version is 1.1.2.
I used the same cord to try each of these iPods; I am going to dig around for another cord just to make sure it isn't a cord issue, but the cord does work to connect both iPods to the computer, so I'm skeptical it is the cord making the Nano not work in the Bronco Sport.
I recognize that these devices are 15-16 years old, and I definitely stream my music on my phone as well. I just like to take advantage of the fact a younger version of myself spent a lot of time making sure all the album art and info was correct on the iPods. I also would like to continue pushing out the time when I will have to breakdown and spend some time generating playlists to reorganize my music when these iPods eventually fail.
Any other folks out there have a success with the old iPods?
TIA!
