My problem is I have a BB in oxford white so you have the opposite problem on the back with the letters also being white. My wife just ordered a vinyl cover for them on Pinterest. It’s not for everyone but I like the BRONCO to stand out on the tailgate.
I'm just the opposite. The white letters on the dark grill are too flashy and gaudy for me. And the white letters on the hatch just didn't look right to me with my color. Besides, there is no other white on the entire vehicle. That's why I went the Plastidip route.
I ordered overlay letters for mine as well and am pleased with them. It’s far from a permanent solution but it was cheap, available and it’ll take several months of car washes before you notice the corners of the letters coming unstuck. I just ordered a couple sets of letters so when one in particular starts showing wear, I can just take it off and put on a new overlay without replacing them all.

Looks very sharp in all-black. I'll end up going that route too. I briefly considered wrapping the roof in white, in which case the white lettering would sort of 'match,' but ultimately decided against it. Received the cactus grey stickers to cover the lettering on the back -- if that doesn't look good, I'm pulling them off entirely.I'm just the opposite. You don't take them off. You just mask around the whole thing and apply the Plastidip over everything. Then you just peel the plastidip off around the letters and it stays on the letters. Really simple and easy to get great results. Watch the video to see how simple it is.
I made a flag template. If you have a vinyl cutter you can cut your own with Oracal 651 vinyl.
