The Badlands was always the better buy. Before the increase, the BL MSRP was $34,590 while the Outer Banks was $33,730. That meant that you could get a BL for just $860 more than an OB. A no-brainer decision for me on what to buy. Just ordered my second BL before the price increase.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed to see the spike in price for badlands trim. I am in a ā€˜21 BB right now and am very happy with it but with the trade-in market I figured, why not upgrade lol. I actually have an order in for both BS badlands and Full size Bronco BB. With my BS BL now cracking 40k, probably will just keep rocking my BS BB until my full size bronco comes in (expect waiting a yr if not more)

I configured my build which I ordered in March and it was almost $3000 more! $43k for a BS BL is a LOT of money!
When I bought my OB there was a (big) Bronco Big Bend with MSRP $45k. Whatever the market will bear will drive the cost.

Top vehicle markup Jeep Wrangler. The new Maverick isn't far behind
"The Ford Maverick compact pickup truck made the list six times. In Pennsylvania, buyers can anticipate paying 34.7% above MSRP, which is about $7,843."

You are correct , but I test drove a ranger, seems so much tighter inside. The sport to me is a much better option. The pricing...yeah spot on.
Yeah I may in three years trade in for a AWD Maverick or pay my BSB off and trade in my beater escape.
This BS is working perfectly for my needs At this time.
But if I wait too long we may be into the Feudal system and it won’t matter. ,:’P

I also just heard the order bank is closed for Badlands this week. and the price increased is about $3500 for my order options. wow....best $100 order investment I made.

it is gone just ridiculous. with $44k...it really has dip into a 4Runner territory. if you really want a capable off roader. 4runner would be a better bet for $44k and it is a bigger car. tho it is a VERY old platform/chasis....needs update. and $44k is dipping into Bronco territory. IF i can still order one...$48k for a Bronco OBX with Luxury Package.

The BS BL is no longer a good buy. But I figure they can charge it and people will pay.

btw. Although Rivian doesn't have a dealership to markup their trucks, I saw a R1T for sale for $150k!!! that is a 100% markup. Similar to a First Edition Bronco I saw once asking for $120k.

My loaded "21 Badlands sticker price around $39,800 and an equivalent '22 is now around $44,500. That a lot of money for what it is. But Ford is betting ppl will pay it. So here we are loaded Badlands is super pricey now and prob more increases coming too.... crazy....

Yeah, I really liked the cyber orange color, and I think the cactus gray was growing on me as my second favorite choice. I have this "love/hate" thing about that Area 51 color. It feels "retro", which isn't a bad thing when you're driving a vehicle that's been around for decades in one form or another. But I also really prefer a medium metallic type blue paint over these lighter, more "baby blue" tones. I have to admit though, I like it more the more I see it around on other people's Broncos.

I have to agree with you that silver doesn't do a lot for me. But absolutely -- you can add more black decals or items that will look really good with it.

I'm going that route with my shadow black model; thinking about a big white vinyl sticker for the hood and some white decorative stripes down the sides along the bottom of the door panels.

I like this one for the hood, that I found on eBay:

Congratulations! Love mine. I rushed down when someone bailed as well. The cyber orange sold 10min before I got there and I ended up with Iconic Silver.

I don’t like silver that much cause I think it’s a pretty boring color. But my wife likes it. It’s growing on me as I put more black things on it LOL.

my route was a 2015 4cyl base mustang theygave me 17k for. Got an OB.

then the badlands showed up at a different dealer…. So I rushed on an off chance I could do a good trade. It was an easy deal to make.

now I rock a badlands.

funny think is it seemed meant to be. ThenOB was iconic silver also.

Yeah. I’m looking at some fender flags that are matte and shiny black metallic.

I’m not much in hood decals, but I did see one with the Dr’s name in Gallifeyan. Would be something to make people sayā€WTH?ā€ Hahaha.

So grabbed a badlands today for good deal. So went ford’s build a vehicle and built one with the same options as I got and the sticker price went up 2400 bucks. What the shit is that.
That, is what you call a "market adjustment!" Every dealership in America is doing it, outside of Tesla and the likes.... if I'm correct! It's a fancy term used in place of "mark-up!" Here, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the market adjustment, aka mark-up is $5,995 or more on the BS's.

43600 is what I have into my first edition bronco sport . Just getting crazy with the numbers, my original want was a 2 door outer banks cactus gray that was 2000 less than what I spent , had one in my hands and I let it go for my first edition badlands because it gave more options . I made the right choice for me . Very happy with my cactus gray ride .

That wasn’t a dealer markup. That is Ford raising the price across the board. And paying over sticker is dumb af, same with the people that think it’s ok.
I walked onto the lot asked about in transit vehicles they had listed. Said I wanted one, they held it and payed less than sticker two weeks later when it came in.

Yep back in Dec 2020 my BASE model was $28,000 OUT the Door and no I will not explain why or produce the sticker to prove it.
But I will say if I had to pay north of $38,000 for a loaded BS I’d pass.
$43,000 would make me move on up to a lower trim Bronco.
On that I’d spend up to $50,000 but no more. And these days I bet I’d not be able to get one at a reasonable price.
I’ll be looking at the Maverick when my BS comes off warranty. And plan to buy the extra three year warranty right before the factory one ends if I decide to keep my BS six years.

I went into shopping for my Badlands with that same mindset. Refuse to pay over MSRP no matter what. If others want to do so, that's fine by me. Supply and demand.... But MSRP tells you the full retail price the manufacturer thinks is the most the product is worth -- so paying over that is just throwing away extra money so you can get it before someone else.

I did pay the full sticker price to get this one. (Didn't try to haggle on the price, which is a first for me buying a vehicle, ever.) But the Ford dealer I went to was no-pressure on sales either, and they did give me a bit more for my trade-in after I protested their original offer for it. And I only paid sticker because I did a pretty extensive Internet search first and realized there were no dealers with another one of these on their lot within about a 100 mile radius of me, except ONE who was close to 70 miles away AND asking $4,000 over MSRP! Realistically, I understand the current market and all the shortages, so I wasn't going to try to fight to get some slightly better price, when the 2.9% interest rate from Ford Credit means I save more on the financing than what it cost me on my previous car I purchased (when 4.9% was the best I could get no matter what).
