@Quashish posted how to do a Google search using the site: operator to search a specific website. Got me wondering about other Google Operators. Thanks to ChatGPT here is a comprehensive list of Google Operators but as these may evolve over time makes sense to look up the most current Google Operators because the list below will go stale over time.

Google Operators

Basic Operators
• “quotes” – Search for an exact phrase. Example: "best mountain bike trails"
• OR – Search for either term. Example: bike OR cycling
• | – Same as OR. Example: bike | cycling
• AND – Search for both terms (Google does this by default). Example: bike AND trails
• - (minus) – Exclude a word. Example: apple -fruit
• *** (asterisk)** – Acts as a wildcard. Example: "best * bike trails"
• ( ) (parentheses) – Group terms. Example: (bike OR cycling) trails

Site & Domain Operators
• site: – Search within a specific site or domain. Example: site:broncosportforum.com oil
• related: – Find sites related to a URL. Example: related:cnn.com
• link: – Find pages linking to a URL (deprecated). Example: link:example.com
• inurl: – Search for keywords in URLs. Example: inurl:biking
• allinurl: – Search for multiple words in URLs. Example: allinurl:bike trails
• intitle: – Search for a keyword in titles. Example: intitle:"best bike trails"
• allintitle: – Search for multiple words in titles. Example: allintitle:bike trails guide
• intext: – Search for a keyword in body text. Example: intext:"healthy diet"
• allintext: – Search for multiple words in body text. Example: allintext:exercise fitness

File Type & Document Operators
• filetype: – Search for specific file formats. Example: nutrition filetype:pdf
• ext: – Same as filetype. Example: resume ext:docx

Time-Based Operators
• before: – Search for results before a date. Example: Olympics before:2020
• after: – Search for results after a date. Example: technology after:2015

Number & Range Operators
• .. (two periods) – Search for a range of numbers. Example: laptop $500..$1000
• # (hashtag) – Search for hashtags. Example: #fitness

Search Within a Specific Region
• loc: – Search within a location (unofficial but works in some cases). Example: bike shops loc:California

Miscellaneous
• define: – Get definitions. Example: define:entropy
• cache: – View Google’s cached version of a page. Example: cache:bbc.com
• stocks: – Get stock information. Example: stocks:AAPL
• weather: – Get weather info. Example: weather:New York
• map: – Search for maps. Example: map:Los Angeles
• movie: – Search for movie details. Example: movie:Inception
• source: – Search within a specific news source. Example: elections source:bbc.com

I was messing around with a few site and inurl combos too, and it’s actually kind of interesting how different tools read links. I found this breakdown helpful: https://crowdo.net/blog/how-ahrefs-counts-links-referring-domains —cleared up why some domains were counting way more links than I thought they had. Definitely good if you're trying to figure out why the numbers don’t match across different reports.
