When I was around the beach recently I finally went to goat mode and switched to sand, what is that horrible noise that comes out is that actually a part of the mode sound?? It was so bad I immediately took it out put it back into normal. Is this normal that it switches to that sound?

What year and mileage, trim? You said "finally went", the AWD system should be used once in a while, you should lock the RDU (BL trim) twice a month for a couple of miles

It's Fords engine enhancement sound, it's to make your driving experience more engaging depending on the drive mode you are in. Other manufacturer's do the same thing, some people like it some do not.

Why? Is this a recommendation from Ford?

"Finally went" I just picked up the Badlands been driving around in normal mode, took Bronc to the beach and finally went into the goat mode to try it out, that's all that is, Bronco's been running great.

Thank you for that, I never knew that, that just kind of blows me away.

Is that across the board for all trims? I know the Badlands Tech Package includes a "Noise Reduction Module" which may be something entirely different. Sounds like ANR using the interior mic and B&O sound system.

In “the old days” when you had to manually lock front hubs, the recommendation was to lock the hubs monthly for a few miles to lube them — NEVER going into 4x4 unless off pavement. Since the Sport is auto “all wheel drive” there is no need to use a GOAT mode (unless you want to use eco or sport) unless needed for a specific off-road situation. The normal mode will direct power to wheels as needed — this can be verified using the pictogram available on the driver info screens, which shows the rear wheels getting power every time you accelerate from a stop — especially in sport mode, or on wet roads.
