I’ve seen in several Facebook pages where people receive their BS and someone has added and drilled in a front plate (and they are not happy about it). Does anyone know where this is being done? Dealer when it’s delivered to them or in the factory? If it’s dealer, I’m going to contact them ASAP to let them know to not drill that on my BS.

Usually done by dealer depending on local requirements. Or if they want extra advertising.

I’ve got a great relationship with our dealer and our state doesn’t have front plate requirement, so I’m going to reach out to them to tell them not to drill into the front of my BS.

it's done at the dealer. Unfortunately my vehicle arrived unexpectedly on a day when my sales guy was not in, and the first thing they did was install the front plate and apply dealer decals despite explicit instructions not to. I was unhappy but whatever, not the end of the world. I am probably going to get some of those license plate hole plugs you can find on amazon for way too much money.

Something like this

I live in a state that does not require front plates. Recieved my bronco with no drill holes because common sense. If a dealer is drilling when your state does not require front plates but they are doing it to advertise their name then I suggest don't buy anything from them. That is just an insult to the customers brand new 0 miles car.

I put my FSU plate in the front.
The white dealer sticker was easily peeled off the back.

I did it myself. I have to have a front plate, so whatever. If I didn't need one I wouldn't have done it.

Our state doesn’t require the front plate but our dealer put the front plate mount in the order anyway. It’s free and if we ever wanted a front plate we have the mount. They did not install it, left it in the back with our floor mats.

theirs looks pretty good, nice and neat, and metal. Looks like it attaches to the vehicle in the same way (small one way lip inserted into the gaps in the facia )

I guess the phone holder is an attachment to the mount thing vs the ball mount I put on mine?

theirs would likely hold up to more abuse, being made of metal vs PLA.

I’m curious to see how mine holds up in the Alabama heat during summer, I got my BS in November, so it remains to be seen.

they are just a small pop rivet. I would just use a black caulk to cover the three little holes. Or head to Harbor Freight and buy little black caps.

I'm in Florida and the dealer did not add the front pate since we only have a rear tag.
