Ford's Return or Buyback Policies

Greetings all,
First time poster and newbie to the site.

I just purchased my first used 2023 Ford Bronco Sport on June 28th. After three days with the Car and just under 20K miles, it's still in the shop for a shifter replacement, which was causing a service light to come on.

Now, I'm still under factory warranty plus the gold CPO, so there are no issues there, but I'm concerned long term. The dealership claims to have opted out of Ford's return policy without written proof, and Ford's buyback program suggests it won't get approved even though I filled out the claim. Has anyone had success with either program, and am I just being too paranoid here?

You had problem with a used vehicle & already you are talking about a return policy. Give it some time.

I went through a Ford buy back of a new car. Ford Buyback program will follow your state lemon law. A quick lookup of Florida's lemon law indicated that it does not cover used vehicles so it is nit clear if Ford will agree to buy your vehicle back. If you are having regrets about purchasing the car your best recourse would be talking to the Dealer you purchased it from. Maybe you can see if the dealer will let you exchange the vehicle but my guess is that you will be solely at the mercy of the dealer.

I'll second @Robins21 here. As long as they're handling under warranty and the car performs as expected after that, I wouldn't stress over it just yet.

As far as buybacks go, one repair under warranty likely wouldn't qualify anyway. As @DWG noted, Florida does not have a used car lemon law, only new and demonstrators. However, the Magnuson-Moss Act may provide relief, but again, a single warranty repair is too low of a threshold.

I get it, buyer's remorse is too easy to feel after any large purchase. Odds are everything will ultimately turn out fine.

You're right. The dash warning suggested driver train / Trans-issue which sent me into panic mode. The dealer also mentioned the Shifter was more precautionary rather than the root cause. Time will tell

I inquired with the dealer and they opted out that program. I'll see if the shifter replacement remedies the fault and go from there. I've read that models from 2021-23 have had similar issues. This is my first Ford so I'm getting caught up on the ins and outs
