Another feature of the Ford ESP plan is that the unused portion is refundable if necessary. When I purchased my 23 Escape I purchased a 10 year Ford ESP plan. Six months later I needed to cancel the contract I purchased through Zeigler and I was refunded the purchase price less $200. The refund price was determined by Ford, not Zeigler.

The terms of my service contract is that it adds 72 months and or 100,000 miles to my existing mileage. It does not terminate at 100,000 miles. Since I had 35,000 miles on the car at time of signing the contract goes out to 135,000 miles and or contract date of July 2030. As stated specifically in the contract.
Well, that's quite a warranty by timeframe and mileage. The Ford plan thru Zeigler I decided on was 7 years and 75K miles, $50 Ded.

I'm retired and don't put a lot of miles on so the 75K limit was fine. I don't usually keep my vehicles more than 5 years

I added the key and lighting options along with 1st day rental and enhanced rental. Total cost $1605.

Bought my sport used with 7K miles. Contract shows 7 years from original service date or 75k miles.

My previous PremiumCare warranties on my Escapes were prorated when I sold the cars and canceled the warranties.

Piece of mind is my reasoning to buy. Will I win, probably not. It doesn't take a whole lot in repairs to recoup the $1605 if something happens once past the regular warranty.

To each his own.

Assuming the dealer sold you an original Ford ESP Plan they must have set the contract up as a used car contract as opposed to a new vehicle contract which is what is normally sold by the dealer within the first three years. That is the only way the contract period would be from the start of the contract. All new car ESP contracts start from the vehicle start date and can be sold as long as the vehicle is within the original warranty period. A dealer cannot change the start date of a new vehicle contract.
I purchased the car new Aug of 2021. Not at the same dealership. It is a single owner used car with no damage history. The factory new warranty was about to expire on the 36 month term with 1 month left and 1,000 miles left. If I had let that warranty expire the deal would have been different. I do get cash offers from CarMax from time to time for well over $20,000. If I win the lottery I might sell it to upgrade to a Raptor Bronco.
