I believe they are talking about the 4 cylinder 1.5L engine, that engine has had a few issues.

Yeah but that engine was never in the sport.
Some the older 2.0s had head gasket issues then there was the Focus RS head gasket fiasco. But haven't heard of a single sport head gasket problem yet.

Bill that is exactly right , I have a 2017 2.0 escape 6 years and absolutely no problems . They did have problems with the 1.5 or maybe it was a 1.8 back a few years ago that had problems .

Sorry but the sport has been very unreliable for us.

15k miles on the clock and its been in the shop 4 times already.

1. Coolant leak above oil filter
2. Rear brake recall
3. Brake failure due to vacuum pump
4. Grinding noise when backing up.

Ive owned alot of vehicles and have never had this many issues.

(And the rear brakes are still grinding even after the tsb)

Sounds like dealer idiots don't know how to correct the issues and are hoping you go away. I would look at online reviews see if you can find a better dealer or trade it in for something else.

I feel for you. I have had a myriad of vehicles in my life and never ever was the following model year raised in price and things dropped from the vehicle. Engine light, climate temp knobs perforated seats ambient light cup holders flip down head rest engine cover ac under dash cover ,on and on. Now this crap.
