Alright I gave it over two months and I hate the auto stop start function. 🤣 I loathe it. Sure it probably saves gas, but I want to get rid of it. It is just simply annoying. If you like it, fine, I don’t. Is there anybody in the Va Beach area that has Forscan and knows how to turn it off? I haven’t found much else that I dislike about the Bronco. (No spare tire is another)However, I can’t see myself buying a laptop and then a subscription to Forscan just to turn this off. Thanks in advance.
You can turn it off anytime you want, there's a button in the dash to turn it off. Look for the button with an A and circle around it

No spare tire? My '21 OB came with a spare. Is that something that Ford did away with recently?
Not sure about when, but I think it is now standard on the sports but not the full size Bronco.

Like I already wrote, I want it permanently gone. I don’t want to have to turn it off every time I get in. I found that button on the test drive.

Too much trouble to just press the button? Almost as bad as having to put the car in Drive.

I just saw this online - have not tested it but seems plausible:

Sport G.O.A.T. Mode: If your Bronco is equipped with selectable driving modes, shifting it into Sport mode automatically deactivates the Auto Start/Stop

But it still causes you to make a selection upon start up (selecting Start/Stop to OFF or selecting GOAT mode)...

As a matter of fact, yes, too much trouble.. I want the car to drive, I don’t want it to turn off and on just because I stop or my leg flinches or whatever other action trips it, and I don’t want to turn it off every time I get in because I know I will never want to use it. I will drive my car.I want to drive my car. As I ā€œSAIDā€ in the very first post if you like it, FINE. I don’t!!! Jerks like you remind me I why I have stayed away from forums for 10 years. If you can’t contribute then just stay out of it. I guarantee you there are things you feel the exact same way about.

I read that also, but as much as I like the sport mode I don’t want to drive in it all the time. Thanks though.

I have an SCT flash tuner that I tuned my previous Ranger with, just so it could shut off the automatic engine stop. They don’t support the 1.5l engine, or I would have done that already. There may be other ways to do it, but I haven’t found any yet. But if you have a supported vehicle, that is an option. But they cost around $400.

OK to add my .02, that's really what it's worth, it would be more convienent if you had to turn it ON if you wanted it. Rather, than turn it off if you don't..... NOBODY want's it....
The problem is the manufacturers were getting greenhouse gas credits for it, and features that are used for these credits must default to "on" each time the vehicle is started.

Wow, sooooo much to unpack in this post! But I agree with everyone's feelings on this subject. I absolutely hated it when I first got my OB. That was back in '23. Now the switch is just a procedure I go through when I start up the car. I'm used to it now and I only get annoyed (with myself) when I realize I missed that part of my SOP during start up. It happens. Guests who have ridden in the passenger seat have mentioned, more often than not, how they love my car, but couldn't abide with the auto-start-stop. It's all good. I love my OB more than I hate the switch and I've adapted.
To add; during my last oil change, my Ford-guy and I were having our typical discussions and the 'switch' came into the conversation. He mentioned if/when they change EPA regulations, they would be able to fix the programming to disable the auto-start-stop. Whether true or not, I've adapted.

I agree, I love the Bronco more than I hate the auto start stop function, but I do really hate it.

ya its true you can do it with forscan, so they can do it with the big ford system. they will just probably charge you 100 bucks to do it, or what ever the going rate is they charge to hook up the scanner is.
