Does anyone else feel like the wind might just take your bs away. When im driving at higher speeds when windy this little sport sways everywhere. More than any vehicle i ever owned. Can almost compare to like a 2011 jeep grand cherokee my buddy had. But that was just jeep suspension i think. Any thoughts. Am i crazy

It’s been really windy here this spring, but I think it feels very planted compared to the Escape. With the exception of the hood. Same going through the car wash dryer. Hood rippling reminds me of a dogs head out the car window at 70 mph!

The crazy question? ?

If i was a bad driver i would not have posted this. But i can drive anything with wheels.. and just feels like wind pushes it around to much. And i dont go through car wash so wouldnt know that one. Hand wash only

It is shaped like a slightly rounded brick with a high center of gravity.

Not sure what you are used to driving. I did the Wisconsin to Texas trip every 6 to 8 weeks for several years in rental cars so I’ve experienced many different vehicles in the wind on the open prairies. Worst was a F-150 in a 50 mph headwind. The doors were literally bowing out along the A pillar. I don’t remember the exact gas mileage that time but I remember it wasn’t good. It’s crazy what a difference it can make on gas mileage over long distance. I could get 10 more miles per gallon on the trip back north in the spring compared to going down even in a Camry/ Fusion sized car.

A relatively tall (vs length) car with a brick shape. As a talented driver I'm sure you'll adapt.
Drove my old 6,200# Raptor through a couple squalls last night and it tested my pucker, I've been driving it for nearly 12 years.
I drove my son's 22' BSBL on a breezy day and it seemed fine.

I had the ford f150 tonka edition.. #44 of 500 from tuscany. Had a 6 in lift. Would drive from albuquerque to phoenix in windy mountains.. no problems. Loved my f150. Ive had 41 cars since 16. Im only 37.. and all makes and model. So i have a lot to compare to.. my eddie bauer explorer actrd same way actually. Maybe just ford suspension and body lines

You got some good ones last night didn’t you! My brother is out there. I told he should have waited another week to put the boat in.

It can blow for sure out there. I have been on 40 plenty of times on the way to Phoenix. That’s a stiff breeze!

Yep, gusting head winds and blinding rain on the turnpike. Got through the first one fine but the second one was worse, had to drop to 40mph a couple times and it wouldn't let up lol. Same thing a few years back with my touring bike. Funny thing is that my motor home doesn't much care about head winds, side winds though, another matter.
It was a beautiful day early but too windy for my boat, so didn't even check the wave report. It stays in my Black River rack storage if they're nearing 4 footers, gets tough to fish nearing 3 footers.

Aside from being tall, these vehicles are relatively light, and have a short wheel base. Being tall means wind will have more surface area to push against; being lightweight means any push will have more effect; and being short means directional changes happen faster. The combination of the three will certainly make a Bronco Sport feel more squirrely than an F-150, even a lifted one.

I actually think the car is very stable in the wind and at high speeds, almost German like.

While heading up to the Eastern Sierras I was encountering like a 30min head wind and shifting cross winds and it felt fine.

Returned to Kalifornia from Carlsbad, NM yesterday. Cross and head winds @ 35mph, gusting to 55mph. 16 wheelers all over the road, had to time passing on I-40. My BS BL jerked now and then, but remained stable. My grand-daughter slept or played with her iPhone without noticing. Mileage dropped to 20/21, but I expected that. I was running 75-80 all the way. I have no complaints.
