Title says it all. The windows will function normally at the other three locations using their individual switches, but nothing works from the driver's switchgear. Remote open/close are fine as well.

(5 minutes later...)

And it's working again. Go figure.

I did, but it didn’t work at first. Went inside, posted the original thread, made an appointment with the dealer, went back to check again, it worked fine, then edited the original post. Been OK since. Go figure.

Could still be a loose connector on the wiring harness. If it happens again, I would check.

Given the sequence of events, I don’t think it’s a connection issue. But believe me, I’m watching it closely now.

Great. All this electronics stuff is crazy. I looked at a new car years ago something did not work salesman said turn off and back on.
I did not buy it. Lol. Have a great one.

I was a Tomcat fixer in the Navy. I've been through a lot of that kind of frustration.

Did it again. Let it set for an hour or so, it’s all good again. As long as I’m confident it’ll reset on its own, I’m fine with it, I guess.
Still, it’s stupid and inexcusable, but short of buying a pre-2000 anything, I guess we’re all stuck with the “new normal”.

Are you absolutely sure no water dripped on the switch even if it wasn’t recent? My Escape used to do it all the time just on that window cuz that was usually the only one I ever had down while driving or parked in the driveway. Water was the culprit and it would dry up and fix itself.

They’re only fully down while parked in the garage. Last stop for the day they were cracked an inch or so down sun for heat relief. No rain for weeks, or sprinklers nearby.

it only has happened on parking in the garage after a drive, and has “reset” itself both times after a brief sit in the garage.

The difference this time is it would go down to the same position it was cracked to earlier, or fully up. I’m 99% certain it’s a position sensing/memory issue between the regulator and BCM.

You say it happens when the car is not in the garage, but then resets when it is in the garage. I see you are in Arizona. Could it be heat related? Something swells in the heat and the returns to normal in the shade of a garage? Or connection becomes loose? Just a thought.

Doubt it’s related to heat, or any other external source. Yesterday’s event was different in that the driver’s window would go down as far as I had it cracked earlier and back to fully closed. It controlled the other windows normally. The prior time it was just not functioning at all.

Im going to take a look in FORScan and see if it threw any codes, but I’m not expecting any.
