Newer drive-in theaters broadcast the sound for the moving over a low-power AM or FM transmitter. You tune the radio in your car to the right frequency to hear it.
Thanks for the clarification Mark, I did not know that. I has been ages since I was to a drive in movie.

Hi! We have a nice drive in movie theater and I'm trying to figure out how to keep the radio on for the length of the movie without having to run the engine or having to press the start button every 15 minutes or so.

Any thoughts? Thank you.
BINGO I had the same freaking problem last summer. One and done as far as taking a Bronco Sport EVER to another drive in movie. Once I restarted the car to reset the "timer" forgetting I had my lights on Auto. I blasted the poor people in front of me with lights for a few seconds. What a lousy experience.

We had a drive in theater in Lakeport when we lived over there no outside speakers, you had to use your radio.
