Cup Holder - Loose/Falling into console.

This is an issue I haven't really seen anyone post about so I assume it's not common, one of the buttons in the cup holder when depressed basically gets stuck and the bottom of the cup holder drops down. I can lift it and pull at the button and it will re-secure into place until I put another drink into the cup holder.

Looks like a defect. Should be covered under warranty.

Are those cop holder modified? I don't remember the cup holder having ambient lighting. Unless that is OB thing like the Heated Windshield Wipers.

I haven't taken it in yet, but someone from a Facebook group said they had the same issue with there escape and dealer fixed it.

Ahh! That was a little dissapointing. Always gets me when they don't add some of these things to the other highest trim. Much like the heated windshield wipers. The badlands would most likely benefited a great deal from that as well. No idea why it wasn't added.

mine happened after warrantee. they told me it would be almost 300 to repair it

300 sounds like a pretty fair price if you want to pay them. Figure $200 for 2 hours of Ford dealer labor and $100 for Ford parts price on a new holder.

If you want to try it yourself, there are plenty of threads showing how to remove the console cover and the cupholders. It's a 2 piece cupholder, weird as that is. You could snap it back together or maybe glue it for a real bond. Could be a $0 fix that way.

OP has a 21 BS. Ambient lighting is another deleted item in later model years. I was surprised to see that my BS still has the cup holder removable bottom. I had a 23 Escape Platinum and the rubber bottom was deleted. I had to buy them from Ford parts.
