Camera Cover

I have a 2023 Bronco Sport Outback and had the Winshield replaced in the process they (Safelite) broke the camera cover. The part number M1PZ-17D550-A shows as discontinued, a Google search came up with part number M1PZ-17D550-AA cover. Can anyone tell me if they are the same part or interchangeable? Thank’s

Most likely it's the same part. The suffix indicates a minor design change or a vendor change. If you order one, make sure it's returnable, just in case.

Reason 6,789 to not go to Safelite. Lots of insurance companies, including mine, will try to tell you that you're required to use them for glass repairs. However, in many states, the law is you can go to any licensed shop. Especially if you have OEM parts specified on your insurance. You don't want garbage Chinese glass a foot from your face when you have an accident.

The windshield was replaced with OEM glass, I think they broke a plastic tab on the cover. They tried to glue it but the cover was hanging down in one corner the next day. I emailed the company and told them I wanted it replaced. I stated I paid for professional installation and would not accept anything less.

Since when does Outerbanks have a forward looking camera. I thought only Badlands and Heritage models have that.

I am probably wrong about the camera, I thought the lane assist, the emergency braking, and the adaptive cruise were driven by the camera but I was just guessing. I noticed that the lane assist will not show if there are no lines painted on the road, I didn't think a radar sensor could see painted lines. Also, the rain sensor seems to "see" the volume of rain on the windshield and adjusts the wipers accordingly.

Since when does Outerbanks have a forward looking camera. I thought only Badlands and Heritage models have that.

Two different cameras, one in windshield and one in grille. The grille camera is only on BL and Heritage.

Also, one’s image is viewable by the driver and the other only by the car’s brain.

Update: Apparently there is a "clip kit" that is supposed to be sent with the windshield, the clips stay connected to the windshield and can't be removed. The installer didn't know this and tried to remove them where upon the broke, so he tried to adhere it up which then failed. Yesterday the installer came with the clip kit and everything is back in good shape.
This maybe something to keep in mind as the BS is prone to windshield damage.
