Ford Bronco Sport Bronco Sport Vs The Competition - Estimated Specs Comparisons 2021 Bronco Sport specs vs competition Jeep Compass Chevy TrailBlazer

Now that we know powertrain and wheelbase (length estimated based on images) the three main competitors to the Bronco Sport will be the Jeep Compass and all new Chevy Trailblazer (not Blazer) and all new Kia Seltos.

The Bronco Sport will have the most Horsepower and Torque in the class and the largest tires (not wheels, but tires) and probably the best transmission especially base transmission

The Bronco Sport will likely be the most off-road capable too save for the Jeep, and even then I think the Bronco will be ahead. I’m looking forward to seeing if it would suit my wife as a daily and maybe as our mountain unit. I really wanna replace my F150 with a Gladiator style Bronco though. (Unless the suggested modular roof for the leaked Bronco may allow for creating a short bed open cargo area as some have suggested, I’d just get that In an “R” version).

Thanks a ton for this comparison! Just for reference, I think they probably have the new RAV4 in mind as well. I was considering the new RAV4 until I saw the photos of the Bronco Sport.
The bronco Sport will be smaller than the RAV4 but bigger than the C-HR.

In regard to length, the Bronco Sport will be shorter by at least 8", maybe more. This is good thing for short overhangs. But just about every other parameter will be close and I would think that the Bronco Sport may be more than an inch taller than the Rav4.

Even by Toyota's own measurements, the interior passenger volume of the Rav4 is a suprisingly low at 99 cf. Toyota packages passenger volume very well, so the volume is very effectively used.

What, if anything , would the sport line up against from Subaru?

Forester maybe???

My Outback is definitely larger, by a big margin, than my parents earlier model Escape(2012? forget the exact year).
So that would rule out the larger Ascent.
Leaving the Crosstrek, which is a lifted Impreza and the Forester.

Subaru doesn’t have a DIRECT competitor but it’s closer to The Crosstreck. The bronco sport will be taller tho. Making more room.

The only true DIRECT competition to the Bronco Sport Include

FCA - Jeep Compass
GM - Chevy Trailblazer (Not Blazer)
Hyundai - Kia Seltos
Mazda - Mazda CX30
Mitsubishi - Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Others that are close but slightly different

Honda - Honda HRV (Smaller)
Toyota - Toyota CHR (Smaller)
Nissan - Nissan Kicks (Smaller)
Subaru - Subaru Crosstreck (Shorter)
VWG - VW Tiguan (Bigger)

honda passport is in the Ford Edge class.

Honda HRV is bigger than the Ecosport and smaller than the Bronco Sport

CRV is Escape sized
Passport is Edge sized
Pilot is Explorer sized
Yes, but the Edge has been rumoured to be nearing the end of it's production.

..... and just because something isn't within a few inches in size to one another, doesn't mean that customers will not comparison shop it.

I have several different vehicles on my comparison list and will weigh the Pro's & Con's of each for my needs, as I feel everyone else should be doing for their needs.

My ever changing list include:
-Bronco Sport
-Bronco (2021)
-Next Gen Ranger
-Passport (which is smaller than the Pilot)
-Outback (least as it's tow rating isn't as high as I'd like, but I do have a 1977 F250 w/460BB to tow with if I need to tow something above the OB's rating.)

All that I want at the moment is to know the minimum ground clearance, hopefully over 8.5", this is very important to me as I am tired of getting hung-up in my snow covered parking lot, our Hyundai Tucson AWD doesn't 'cut' it.
