I believe it's on the right side (from drivers seat point of view). So seems it's the one he talks about at 2:33. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I added a catch can, so am I getting double the "protection". My can is about half full every 1,000 miles. I change oil about every 3500 miles.
Update: catch can collecting fluid may depend on how you drive? My last 1,000 miles or so the can was empty. Maybe the winter weather had something to do with how much?

Interesting observation
assumed the driving habit did not change
Variable being the temp fluctuation
expansion/contraction forces at play
cylinder walls/pistons/valve guides
my bet most blowby/condensation occurs at first minutes of operation

personal results
under 200 miles
thin film
no more than a couple drops

Yes, colder temps will encourage more moisture in the oil due to condensation. This is especially true if you take frequent short trips where the oil spends more time below than at normal operating temp. Once at normal operating temp moisture boils away, below that it is held in suspension in the oil.

This is one reason why frequent short trips is considered severe duty by many manufacturers in their engine service recommendations.
