Anyone have an issue with their blower fan stop blowing as hard after a few weeks?

When I first drove off the lot I was amazed at how strong the fan was and how good it felt in the heat. Now that I’m roughly 3 weeks into ownership, setting 7 feels like the original setting 3 or 4. Four and below feel like nothing (over-exaggeration) is coming out.

I’m taking it in this coming weekend, but has anyone run into anything similar?

I'm in San Antone and my 4 week old Badlands blows just as strong today and day of purchase. Very strong on Max!

Bro I’m dying in Austin right now 😂

Max used to put icicles in my beard, now I’m sticking to these leather seats

It might be a good idea to check the cabin air filter. Maybe there was something in there that ended blocking a good portion of the air?

Hello, Forrest! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this fan concern. Thanks!

Anyone have a clue what would cause “an oily substance” in the Cabin Air Filter?

My local dealer said that’s what they found, so they replaced the CAF but now a few weeks later I’ve got another ruined CAF, and a weak AC.

@Meanderthal: turns out I missed this, it’s only visible on the underside of the CAF.

It is leaking refrigerant and that is the oily substance on the CAF.

Nice. /s

bonus points for Ford, Autozone, o’reilly’s, etc. having CAFs on back order 😩 (at least as a bandaid fix until my dealer can squeeze me in)

Also don't forget that putting it into Eco also drops your blower speeds without any indication on the panels. Though it looks like you've figured out the issue.

I would think that to verify they would put UV die into the A/C system, then run it for some time, then check the CAF for signs of the UV die. I think that is pretty standard practice for tracing refrigerant leaks these days. The refrigerant may even already have the UV die in it.
