BFGs ko2s 245/70/17s. Do They Fit?

Idk for sure, but someone stated that "235"/70's fit. Didn't look up if BFG makes that size
I think I'm going with a 235 next anyway. The 245's pull pretty hard in ruts and have a tendency to float (hydroplane) over rain and snow since the BS is such a light vehicle.
Great for crawling though.

This is the progression of tire diameter:

• 235/65/17 = 29” dia
• 245/65/17 = 29.5” dia
• 235/70/17 = 30” dia
• 245/70/17 = 30.5” dia

The 10mm (3/8”) reduction in width for the 235/70 vs 245/65 might give enough clearance for the 235/70’s 30” diameter. From the pictures I have seen, it doesn’t look like the rub is happening on the shoulder of the tire, more so in the meat of the tread. It seems that rubbing starts to happen when the tire diameter is somewhere in the 29.5-30” range. At 29.5 I don’t think anyone is getting rub but at 30 people are reporting rub.

All tires vary a little from the specified size. Width and diameter are going to be a range, not a specific number depending on manufacturer and tire model. I haven’t tested it so I can’t be 100% on this but 235/70/17 will probably rub depending on the brand/model choice. As an example of this, look at TireRacks “Specs” section for a few different brand tires of the same size and look at “revolutions per mile”. Those numbers vary from brand to brand which means the diameter is also varying.

BTW, not much choice in 235/70/17 AT sizing. TireRack has 5 and the K02 is not one of them.

This is all based on not bending/cutting anything on the BS. If you are willing to do that, then sizes start to open up a little. I wouldn’t recommend this route but it’s your vehicle not mine.
