You will learn to live with it. I have a Factory Five Racing cobra that I built in my garage. I’ve been asked is it real and what is it (common guesses include Corvette and MG). I’ve heard all about their friend/uncle/neighbor who has a real one. I’ve been told the car I built has a mustang chassis. I don’t react or try to figure their motivations, I just smile.

I don't explain anything. They always ask if I like it and I reply that I do. They then say they're thinking of getting one and ask how long I had to wait to get mine.

I told them I waited around 5 minutes, it was on the lot and they tell me I was lucky.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
