Apple Car Play broken?

This has been going on for about 2 months; with one big Bronco and two different Bronco Sports; in 2 different locations; but with the same iPhone. CarPlay connects, but randomly the map will not show, or the map shows but the navigation won’t work. I’ve tried both apple map and google map. The only gps that works as it should is the installed Sync, which is free for a while, and then a paid subscription. I can’t tell if it’s my phone, Verizon, or Ford.

i’ve followed a couple youtube videos, i.e., unpaired and re-paired the phone, turned off VPN, reset phone, reset Sync.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Do your maps/navigation work on your phone if you aren't using Carplay? Sometimes I have to open the maps app on my phone to force Carplay to work as it should. I'm always on beta software though so I never know if it's the beta iOS or just Sync and Carplay both being subpar platforms

I've been having issues with my wireless Apple carplay also over the last couple of weeks.

Map apps seem to work ok but Pandora & Spotify will sometimes open on my screen, the song will appear but it will not play. No control to move to the next song.

Sometimes after a shutdown and then a startup cycle they will work.

I haven't done much to try to figure it out yet, that is re pair Sync and my phone, etc.

I phone 14 pro max, IOS Version 26.5.2 and Sync 4 with the latest OTA update.
