Hey ya’lll. Need some advice. …
a few months ago the water pump failed on my 2022 bronco sport Outer banks edition and was replaced. ( I had noticed the car was not heating up and then saw the coolant level was completely empty.- no sign of leaks anywhere)
The other day as I was sitting idling in my work parking lot getting ready to leave for the day , I see the wrench symbol light up on my instrument cluster. i logged into the app and it shows Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power . thankfully, it’s 5pm and the dealer is literally across the street so I drive the car over there. To be honest I wasn’t sure I was going to make it because I couldn’t go over 20 mph and it felt like the car was going to stall the whole way.
I get to the dealer and explain the situation to them and they look at it yesterday and say it is a High Pressure fuel pump that has failed. My concern is this…; could there also be an issue with the Powertrain and they are only seeing the fuel pump as the issue ? My car has been idling rough before the water pump went, and has not gotten any better even before this. Is there something else I need to be telling the dealer to look for ? I’m at 43K miles and want to have the concerns fixed before the warranty is up. Thanks in advance.
