I am new to that transmission, I know it existed for a few years. Does anyone know how many hardware revision it got?

Just to know if some improvements was done to it since 2019?

I am checking on the Ford Service Info right now...

It seems:
- Trans. Specifications was revised in 2024
- Clutch B section was revised in 2023
- Main control valve body was revised in 2021
... procedure for the rest date 2018-2019 (unchanged)

Unfortunately impossible to know what.

I was able to locate the following which is from ChatGPT given the request: “determine the Ford 8f35 transmission Specifications that were revised in 2024, specifically what revisions were made in 2024”

In 2024, Ford implemented several notable revisions to the 8F35 transmission, focusing primarily on software enhancements and addressing specific mechanical concerns.

2024 Revisions to the Ford 8F35 Transmission
(Except as noted below, these are applicable to Bronco Sports)

1. Software Updates for Shift Logic

Ford introduced a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) update that modifies the shift strategy of the 8F35 transmission. This update allows the transmission to skip second gear under certain conditions, effectively operating as a 7-speed transmission in specific scenarios. This change aims to improve driving dynamics and reduce the abruptness of the 2-3 gear shift, which has been a point of contention among drivers due to the close gear spacing.

2. Enhanced Adaptive Learning Capabilities

The 8F35 transmission’s adaptive learning system was refined to better accommodate variations in driving behavior and conditions. This includes adjustments for different drivers, changes in terrain, and towing or hauling scenarios. The improved system helps the transmission adapt more effectively, reducing the likelihood of undesirable shift patterns.

3. Addressing Reverse Gear Engagement Issues

A potential issue was identified in 8F35 transmissions produced between November 27, 2024, and February 4, 2025, where some units experienced reverse gear failures. While this concern was initially reported in relation to the 10R transmission used in the full-size Bronco and Ranger, it was clarified that the 8F35 transmission, used in vehicles like the Bronco Sport, was not part of this recall.

Technical Specifications (Unchanged)

The core specifications of the 8F35 transmission remained consistent through 2024:
• Type: 8-speed transverse automatic transmission
• Torque Capacity: Approximately 350 Nm (258 lb-ft)
• Weight: Approximately 96 kg (excluding fluids)
• Shift Time: Approximately 200 milliseconds at full load
• Adaptive System: Enhanced to adjust to driver behavior and conditions

These revisions in 2024 reflect Ford’s commitment to improving the performance and reliability of the 8F35 transmission through software enhancements and addressing specific mechanical concerns.

Also… I didn’t ask about finding the details for the following but others can ask their favorite AI if interested…

- Clutch B section was revised in 2023
- Main control valve body was revised in 2021
... procedure for the rest date 2018-2019 (unchanged)

And as always a caveat … the output from AI tools such as ChatGPT should be cross-checked from trusted sources for accuracy

AI "hallucinations" are common, after all it's training to output cohesive text to humans. Always verify! ?

I don't think it knows something particular about the change, unless trained on internal documents. (highly unlikely)
