You have the 1.5” lift and still needed to trim?

A lift does not change the clearance when the suspension is highly articulated, it only changes at what point in the articulation the interference occurs. If you are building a “mall crawler” then you can lift it and put huge tires on it. You will then have to drive cautiously over bumps to avoid tire rub, much like a lowered car driver does. A lift only changes the situation slightly, it is not a solution.
