I definitely subscribe to the larger sidewall “side” of life but honestly, after many years of wheeling, the difference of 10mm or 3/8’s of an inch in width or 12mm or 1/2 in of additional clearance isn’t going to change where this can or cannot go by much (IMO). When people are now wheeling with 37’s or 40’s, going from 29 to 30 isn’t changing things significantly.

Just changing to a more aggressive tread and squarer corner/edge gives it a much better look.
In my case I like how chubby the 245-65-17 look on OEM wheels 😉

I agree, they look really good. I think because of the sharper corner compared to mine.

Is your spare a “chubby” tire as well? If so, does it fit without modification? My 235/65-17 just seems to fit without modifications.

So I pulled the trigger and joined the truck tire gang. Issue I was having was did I want to play it safe and find 245/65 or go tall and skinny and attempt 235/70. Well pretty happy with the results.

They clear! Even at full lock. But just barely. We are talking by say a quarter inch at full lock.

I pulled the trigger on the Firestones of all the available choices (and there are not many in this size) bc they were rated excellent in the mountains and damn it the Badlands needs better than fake ATs. Also I paid $155 per tire the list of $218. And a $60 rebate.

All said and done gained a inch lift from the bigger tires and it looks bad ass with the extra sidewall.

Any questions let me know. PSA this is a Badlands. Pretty damn sure these are not going on the lower suspension models unlifted.

So about 1 month now on the new bigger tires. Zero regrets. Truck drives like a tank. And no rubbing even off road.

Good job! Now your Bronco looks really beautiful! I'm thinking to lift my car and put 235/70/17 tires too!

So it has been a time since you went with the 235/70/17 , so would you do it again ? Leaning towards 235/70/17 cooper at 30 inch also any regrets , I am a pavement driver no off road . Looking for your experiences with your set -up . Thanks for your thoughts. Jim Pittsburgh Pa

on a good set of tires. I went the KO2 245/65/17 with my Badlands. I've had it on trails in CO and Northern NM for weeks at a time never felt it rub. They are noisier, though. A 245 Wildpeak would probably be quieter, but I wanted the grip of the KO2's.

Nope no issues at all. Still no rubbing even when Off road. Road noise way down. If the truck is awesome and snow.

Worth the money. These Firestones or the mentioned Coopers are both mint. I would totally do it again.
