I don't use the HomeLink buttons in my BS... use the opener that came with the garage door opener...

And as to whether or not the HomeLink works when the car is off, I don't know and don't care. I always park my BSBB inside the garage.

I use my home link to open my garage door. I park inside the garage so I have no security concerns. I am glad it was included in my 25.
