I don't know if this is in the works or not but I would be surprised if Ford didn't offer a hybrid BS next year. Just seems to make sense to me and I'm sure it would help sell even more of them. Time will tell I'm sure.

Not sure what's going on there but there are some things to consider-

The Escape hybrid uses the 2.5L NA engine and when combined with the electric motor only produces 200hp. Might compare favorably with the 1.5 L turbo but it's heavier.

Compared to the 2.0L turbo the Escape hybrid is nearly 2 seconds slower 0-60.

I would be interested in a PHEV BS. My daily commute is less than 30 miles roundtrip so a plug-in would be perfect

The 1.5L turbo equipped with an electric motor for the rear would probably provide decent performance.

They’re unable to keep up with demand for the current offerings. I’m not expecting many, if any changes, for the 22 model year. A hybrid drivetrain is a major change.
