I’m at wits ended. I bought my vehicle brand new in 2021. Ever since I’ve had it, it’s made loud noises when I am in reverse and hitting my brakes. I mentioned this to the dealer where I bought the car, Galpin Ford, and service department told me the noise would go away after I drove it a few hundred miles. I drove it thousands of miles and the noise did not go away. There have been about four or five week calls on this car and each time I’ve taken it in, I tell them about the brake issue. They have admitted that they know about the issue, but there was no resolution. They advised me that when there was a resolution, I would be notified. No one has ever contacted me. Has anyone had this issue and had it resolved? I’ve been reading blogs and saw that one person said that they got new rotors and brake pads installed and that did the trick. But that was only one or two people. And I think they did that at their own expense. I read that Ford has said this is normal. But I don’t accept that. I don’t know of any other new car that squeals so loud that the driver is embarrassed. Sometimes I drive around the block rather than putting the vehicle in reverse because it’s so embarrassing. The noise is so unbelievably loud (think airhorn, amplified whales sing, squealing pigs) that I am at the point where I want to get rid of the car. The noise is so loud that I doubt anyone would want to buy it from me. I also don’t want to just pass the problem along.
If someone has had this problem and had it resolved, please let me know how it was remedied.
I’m contemplating on making a complaint with the FTC.
Thank you in advance!
