Has anyone tried this damper kit for their Bronco Sport. (CX430) 2021-2024 Modify front Gas Struts? Apparently no drilling is required. Only 10 mins to install. I was wondering if they are worth it or if they are too flimsy?

I installed Redline struts and it took me less than 10 minutes

What's wrong with the good old prop rod?
It's already there, works every time it's needed, doesn't cost any extra and won't wear out. It's the kiss principle, lol.

I like having a little more support should I need to service, tweak or tune things under the bonnet.

I don't know about all that. If I did get a set it would be in hopes they eliminate more hood vibrations at highway speeds. But that's mostly towards the center of the hood, and don't think if would provide more stabilization where needed. I feel having 1 rod on either side would get in the way more than the single offset pole in the front. Weighs less, won't ever potentially leak, and best of all free.

They don’t get in the way at all. They are pretty much above the cowl. They actually allow the hood to open considerably further than the prop does.

There's nothing wrong with it. I just prefer having gas struts opening and holding the hood for me. For years we used to have hinges with powerful springs to hold open the hood. Now we can get gas struts that do the same thing with far less weight. I think they're nifty.

Any trouble closing the hood with them? Like do you have to push the hood down into the latch? I usually just get it near closed and drop it so it latches. No finger prints.
Near the last 4-5 inches before contact a firm downward push to latch it.
