Well checked my oil when I got home and guess what back to the bottom of the stick. Service has jumped on it and I will be up there tomorrow to drop my BS off and see what's up, but 2 full oil pans of oil have disappeared in 250 miles of driving. I am sure they will make it right.

Hope they fix you up quick!

Oh and no smoke or leaks that I can see the exhaust tips have black soot in them but again no smoke that I saw.
Hey there! Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you are working with? I would like to look into your Bronco's oil consumption issues on my end.

Mine has 1,300 miles on it & is doing something odd. It is set for that auto off thing when we stop at a light but sometimes, when I go to take off, its like its in neutral & doesn't want to "go". Getting some hesitation on acceleration at other times. Starting to concern me since I traded my 2019 Transit Connect in because it had so many problems including having the transimission rebuilt at 64k miles & the complete brake system replaced because it kept dragging the brakes. Constant error messages popping up until I just could not trust it. So I don't know what to think & I've got a long distance trip planned in a couple of weeks...

Well I would say get ahold of your dealer and let them know that was my first step.

Hello! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.

Hi Everyone!

Wanted to update everyone that finally after 2.5 months my BS Outer Banks is home. New engine was installed. According to the paper work the BS had the following error codes: P0303, P0011, P0016, P052A and P054B. The long block (?) was replaced and so were a bunch of other parts and fluids. TBH, I'm not sure I'm going to keep the BS as my confidence in Ford and Ford cars is badly shaken. I do wonder if having a new engine installed decreases the value of the car. Was thinking of trading it in the near future for what at this time I'm not sure. One day at a time with the BS and hope it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for the update. The issue you experienced appears to be rare--yours is the only report I've seen for it so far. I don't believe a new engine will affect resale value, especially since it was performed by a Ford service center under warranty. The rarity of your issue combined with the fact your engine had so few miles on it is pretty good evidence this was a production error, not a design flaw, which should help alleviate your reliability concerns. There's no such thing as a perfect production line--there will always be a certain percentage of assemblies with issues. You happened to be one of the unlucky ones. It sounds like Ford has done all it can to make it right.

I agree with Mark on the issue of having an engine replacement loosing value. If it were a muscle car or rare vintage vehicle, then yes, a 'numbers matching' vehicle is all the rage with collectors these days.

But our Bronco's do not fall into a vintage/muscle car collector category.

Not sure if any newer vehicle sold today is 'matching number' critical in order to preserve originality or value.

I appreciate that. I really hope this does not happen to anyone else.

Thank you Bucko. Was thought I had when driving home from the dealership, so I feel better about the value not being diminished.

The initial failure sounds like a fluke since we have not seen this come up. I would not be concerned and there is no reason to believe it will affect your resale value.
