Just wanted to post an update.
I got tired of the runaround and lies at the dealership so I took my loaner Ford F150 and drove down to Tidelands Ford and said I want my car back not getting it fixed here.
I think the men there didn’t want to be shown up by a woman because they were so wrong and they misdiagnosed my vehicle.
So I have an appointment to take her to Wilmington. The service people there have been nothing but stellar!
So she’s going to stay close to home for the next three weeks and then she will get the repairs needed to hopefully fix her for good.
Just so you all know, the dealership called Tidelands Ford tried to charge me for an alternator replacement. The alternator is not what the problem is. I’ve said it over and over again and I may be a woman, but I am very familiar with car diagnostics and OBD codes because I have previously worked on cars…
Anyway, I got all my paperwork in order … Copies of all the dealership service person “diagnostics” (which consisted of him, popping the hood and listening ) and I also got a copy of all the onboard diagnostic copies that the car provides because they’re all connected vehicles nowadays.
The service department would not stray from their diagnosis. The dealership I’m taking it to completely agrees with me.
So far, anybody having similar issues to what I’ve been having, which was the car shutting down loss of power, which seems like it’s an alternator, but it’s not the alternator … we just had the recall done for the drain tube and the PCM software update. The problem started just after this…. The vehicle started throwing out codes FSA : fuel injectors as well as codes for the PCM.
There is a short in my PCM and my fuel injectors are cracked. The car has told everybody exactly what is going on with it but these people refuse to listen and try to take me for $1600.
I will say that Ford customer service has been absolutely fantastic. They’ve done everything they can to help me and they have listened to my problems with this vehicle and with the dealership. They were not happy about how the dealership handled the situation, but it’s not really under their control because they’re independently owned, but it does affect their name.
I have not lost faith in my bronco. I love her and I’m looking forward to her working great as soon as this is all fixed up! I have found a great dealership up in Wilmington and I’m looking forward to bringing any issues to them and knowing I have transparency and honesty and hopefully soon I’ll be able to upgrade and maybe get that full-size bronco one day.
This was a lot of effort and a lot of stress. My fingers are crossed that everything goes well here in three weeks
anyway just thought I would update anyone who cared.
