My wife get asked about out BS Badlands on a regular basis. We both love it. Much better than her 2010 Honda CR-V or her 2002 Subaru Forester. It works well for weekend camping trips, but on longer trips we take our Expedition with more cargo room.
When I turn on the left blinker, it hyper flashes like a bulb is out. The right blinker is fine. When I compare left and right blinkers from the front, they appear to be the same. Same for the rear. I decided to look at the individual bulbs, but the plug has multiple conductors where it...
I also had a key fob issue. It quit working, so I went online to see how to reprogram it. After reprogramming it would remote start, and unlock remotely but not be recognized when unlocking or starting. The dealership was able to reprogram it, but I have no idea what happened.
Husband & wife in our '70's.
'22 Badlands with premium and tow package
3500 miles
We love it. It tows our teardrop trailer, gets better mileage than our Expedition, and we can see the corners when parking. It is almost as peppy as my Honda S2000.
The "Auto" button is not lit, so I assume I have manual control. I also have blower motor control which is indicative of manual control. Being an old guy, I prefer to control the heat/cool manually. I hate being told how to drive/how to be comfortable by my vehicle. On older vehicles, the...
This morning it was 31° F at home. I started my BSBL and went shopping. On the way there I noted that the A/C dashboard indicator was on. This has been an ongoing problem for months. The A/C turns itself on when not wanted or needed. Having had enough, I pulled the compressor clutch fuse...
I have owned a Ford Ranger and two Expeditions. My wife had a 2010 Honda CR-V that I could not stand. We sold it and bought a BS Badlands and we both love it. We tow a small teardrop trailer and on short trips we use the Sport. On long trips we use the Expedition with its greater payload.
I have both a Bronco Sport and an Expedition. By removing the battery from the fob neither will recognize the fob when it is out of the faraday bag even next to the start button. I keep them locked in Consol Vaults in each vehicle. The only issue is that if the battery is dead I won't be able...
We had a 1997 Ford Ranger parked outside. 2WD so I did not drive it with snow on the ground. One spring I started it and it quickly died. It would not restart so I did the "spark, fuel, air" test. When I opened the air cleaner it was a well chewed mouse nest. By starting the engine it...
We put in a Consol Vault safe under the back seat. Ford sells them as an after build dealer install but we saved $100+ by doing it ourselves. Very easy install, and we keep the registration, extra cash and other valuables in it. If the BS is stolen, the thief will not have access to the...
We ordered a BS BL from Wall's Ford in Salisbury, MA in January. They honored the $1500 Ford rebate, but added the VIN etching at $199 without our OK. They are dead to me now for any service that I may need. They have a quick profit and a long term loss as I will go elsewhere for service.
Back in the day, 50+ years ago, I drove an MGB. I waved to all MG's on the road and they mostly waved back, whether they were MG-T series's MGA's or MGB's. Since then I haven't noted anyone waving who is driving the same vehicle as I do.
I ordered in January, it was built in April, and I am happy with my Badlands delivered in May. The dealer honored the $1500 rebate and the additional $750 for the increased MSRP. What killed me was the added $199 for antitheft markings that I never agreed to. I only realized this after all...
Doing more research, the answer may be that you are not shifting into park before turning off the ignition. I always shift into park when turning off the ignition, but my wife just shuts everything down. Hope this helps.
When I drive our BS the parking brake is never applied after I shut it down. Whenever my wire drive it, the parking brake is always applied. Reading the manual pages 172 and 183 does not state how the parking brake automatically applies.
I have an Expedition MAX and it just supplys a trickle charge to the camper battery. If you are driving down the road with more than a few amps draw on your battery, it will not keep the battery fully charged. I get around this with a separate cord from from the 12V outlet in the back to the...
