I think they will do a good job with it! A 2.0 or 2.3 Ecoboost with that 9speed auto. And a good torque vectoring system that can really Handle the off road terrain will be a win.
Either way it’s going to sell like hot cakes
Jeep Cherokee is also 4500lbs with its towing package. So yes I think 5000lbs SHOULD be the ball park for the towing package. I’ll be OK with 4000 but I think ford needs to be very aggressive in its towing abilities
however the C2 platform cousin Escape only has a max of 3500 as does the Edge...
I predict there will DEFINITELY be a lower end trim with FWD and the 1.5L. No AWD with 1.5L. Just to keep the entry price down. Compass Cherokee and Renegade all have FWD base models with small motors.
but yes I wouldn’t touch it at all. Give me the 2.0 or 2.3 turbo AWD. And it definitely will...
we can hope all we want. But it ain’t gonna happen. new report shows just over 1% of new vehicles sold in 2019 had a manual. Vs 1.4% were EVs.
but a big engine would be nice. 1.5T is weak sauce. 2.0 is ok. Not sporty tho. A 2.3 would be perfect!
this chart is sooooooo. Off.
Shift the bronco and sport left. Like the chart is tooo wide.
there is really no room for more excluding an Expedition Raptor. BUUUUUT a 90k+ Expedition would not sell well at all. To many other SUVs at that price. Ie Land Rover Range Rover.
Now I know it’s fairly obvious here. Being it’s built on the New C2 Platform with the Escape. But this is going to be more sporty and rugged. And the Escape hasn’t had a sporty power train like ever????
Given
1.5L I3T 180/180 Base
2.0L I4T 250/275 Limited
Possibly ST/Raptor
2.3L I4T 270/310...
