I'm in a 23 HLE also. <2k miles, but no reverse brake groan at (yet)
My understanding is that the fuel injector recall doesn't apply to the 2.0s
Would be glad to have another HLE on the forum!
Might be worth looking into the diff breather heights. They may be the limiting factor in fording depth, which would make a snorkel mostly irrelevant for all but aesthetic value and dusty days.
Not knocking the aesthetic angle... could look cool as hell if it's done right.
Which trim level do you have? There's two basic approaches I've seen here, but it's based on whether you have the 1.5L or the 2.0L
A user called WindsOfChange has an ongoing thread about armoring his BL.
Thank you! I knew I should know what that stood for...
There's two guys on here that rave about Flat-Out. What's the issue with them, in your opinion?
Edit: Neve mind. That was a different poster who didn't like them.
This is awesome, and timely. I'm planning a trip out there late this summer, then another in the fall.
I'm at the same clearance and same tires as you, so this is really useful information.
1) Do you have anything besides the factory skid plates? Any undercarriage damage?
2) I'm really...
Just want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly: you ended up trimming the factory gas tank skid to fit the evap plates? Or the other way around?
Yeah, I'm a big fan of supporting our parks, and the applicable permits are usually pretty inexpensive (TX State Parks permit is ~$30/yr). I've also found that many of the private offroad places in Texas require that permit for entry. Add that to free entry at most parks, and it's a no-brainer...
