I think everyone accepts that the article and renderings are fantasy. As far as lifting unibody vehicles, it is done all the time. Can't use a body lift for obvious reasons (frame and body are one, hence unibody). But suspension lifts are implemented on unibody vehicles all the time.
Even...
Nevermind, Tdubz. I found the article with the renderings. In the article, they have a rear-view rendering with the plastic rear bumper replaced with steel. I like it overall. But I don't like the branding on the rear-view. Still need the faux-steelies for my taste.
Tdubz, do you have a link to the original render? I'm curious what the specs were. The lift, tire size, getting rid of the silly front plastic bumper, getting rid of the side skirt cladding and what looks like rock rails. The only improvements would be faux-steelies, getting rid of the...
Dude, your PS skills are on point. With the two of you being able to fit, you shouldn't even bother sleeping on the ground. Roll out the mattress pad and call it a night.
It's not terrible. Don't like the wheels. The Faux-Steelies are what I want to see. I presume that was the first sign of the awning accessory that we have seen.
dreamwrx, can you please link where the moonroof is optional? From my understanding the moonroof is standard on the BL + BL. IMO, it is the only trim level that is worth considering for my needs and also the only trim level that would be suitable for small scale overlanding.
That isn't a bet. That is charity. I have no doubt the BS would beat my v6 liberty in every category. But I can't knock the v6 as it is still running strong. I only have 85K miles on it.
As an aside, years ago, I had a Jaguar XJ6. Early on they were referred to as a Camaro Killer. I never...
But that is a torque attribution. Torque is more important than HP when it comes to off-road. The 275 lb of foot torque at 3000 rpm is attainable. (Reference the 2.0 Liter Ecoboost engine).
I drive a v6 Jeep Liberty. It is reported as having 210 hp. I've had it for 17 years and never had...
Folks have to keep in mind when comparing HP/torque among different vehicles. Manufacturers don't have a set standard so the consumer compares apples to apples. Often, they will report the highest metric but include in the small print the rpms at which the metric is achieved. It would be more...
It was the first vehicle that I learned how to drive. Not with permission, but rather sneaking my dad's keys and driving up and down the driveway (about 100 yards).
From my experience, white hides daily road grime. While it will always look best washed, dust and road grime just blends. Whereas a dark vehicle such as black, always shows the dust and dinge.
I had a white Ford Explorer Limited years ago, and It always looked good whether I washed it or...
Thanks, Albert. I knew I read about a mileage threshold, but I obviously got mixed up with the specific number. Was that dictated by Ford to the dealerships?
Albert @Granger Ford might be able to clarify. But I believe I read that mannequins were being sent for demo/touch/feel. Dealers could not sell the mannequins until there was 1500 miles on them. By specifying a mileage threshold indicates that they will be available to be test driven.
