Good learning experience. I take mine to the dealer for service, I've changed oil for years, don't want to lay on the ground anymore or schlep the used oil and filter to the parts store.

If your auto start stop is functioning correctly it's basically transparent. Mine works so well I glance at the tach to see that that the engine did shut off, and the split second I move my foot off the brake I'm gone. If I want or need to turn it off I just press the button, no big deal.

Is your BS still under warranty?, if so I would take it in to the dealer and have them scan it to see what is causing the lighting fault and correcting it. While science projects can be fun, if you have any warranty left take advantage of it before it runs out.
