Gotta disagree here. The GOATs are very useful for me. Mud/Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl, anyway. I dont think of them by their names, really; but it's the 3 primary combinations of offroad functionality at my fingertips and on the fly.
1) Sand = 4WD, but neither 'locker' engaged. Extra wheel...
I spent quite a bit of time in deep mud and water this past weekend. Nothing like the awesome video that's posted upthread, but we did fine and no problems this week.
Only my 2nd time off-road in this lil ute, and 1st time mudding. Wanted to go through the cleanup and see if y'all think there's anything I've missed.
(This isn't a gripe post.. just a description)
So, after spinning up mud and sand for a couple of hours, my boy and I did some cleanup...
Alright, I crawled under mine and checked out the existing evap plates; and then I watched JCR's slider installation video. I can't see any reason why their sliders wouldn't work with the factory evap plate ?
I guess what I'll do is order the sliders and see if they work. If not, I was going to...
Not today, but this weekend I scratched the pillar plates on some branches, and then I got so much mud jammed up in the wheel wells that I'm not sure how I'll get it out.
Does that count?
I know this post is old, but I'm in greater Houston, too. I'm looking for any local 4x4 groups; so if you know any and can share, that'd be cool.
Also, my kids and I well sometimes get up to Creekside OR Ranch in Splendora. We usually go without much planning on a Sunday if we're bored; but I...
Ok, that info's really helpful, thank you.
The only seat that may need an occasional wash is the driver's; so if that ends up being a PITA, I'll come up with another solution.
Mostly concerned that if I get lots of sweat on it, it's eventually gonna smell pretty rank. I guess I'll burn that...
About a month and 900 miles on, and I love my Peak Blue HL. I've had a fun of fun with her already, and my kids and I are planning our next adventures.
I'm coming out of a 2012 F250 4door, full bed diesel; so I'm shifting from 11 years on a 172" wheelbase to 106"... 5.5 ft difference, lol. As...
Hey, Tigger, thanks for pointing me to the neoprene. I think that's going to work best for me.
How difficult to take off/put on? I'll probably need to wash mine fairly often.
Nah, y'all have got me sold on the Ford neoprene setup. How difficult are they to take off & put on? Summer's coming up, and I'll be getting in sopping wer assume days; so I'll need to be washing them pretty regularly.
Howdy. I'm really glad you're in the middle of this, because I'm doing some of the same.
I've got the factory bash plates ('23 HL), but I would also like to add front bumper, departure protection, and rock rails.
JCR HRG confirmed that their front bumper plate will fit, and I've got a...
Thanks for replying.
Yes, it's the perforated leather. I'm not too worried about it for everyday use, but if I need to get in while I'm covered in mud, and it's pouring rain... I'd like a little peace-of-mind (and a little less cleanup never hurts).
Howdy. Just searched the forum and didn't see any recent conversations about this.
Loving my 23 HL, but I want to be able to protect the seats when we're out there, but I'm also eligible to be filthy when I get in at the end of a work day ?
I like many of Carhart's products, but the pics of...
