It stands for Ford DIagnostic & Repair System. It's the same program Ford dealer techs use to diagnose and program/update the different modules in Ford vehicles. Assuming you already have a windows based laptop, you'd need to invest about $700 in the cable and battery power supply needed for...
It's possible and likely the 2026 is shipping with the same IPC software the 2025 has. The fix may not even be available yet. Unfortunately, I don't have FDRS any more to check, but the fix for the recall may not be out yet.
I agree with @Whpony96 that the chances of this happening are slim...
It's part of Sync 4. It goes away with Android Auto or Carplay. Unfortunately, the 8" APIM does not support the UnReal theme. That's the first thing I asked about when speaking to them about this.
However, the 12" kit would come with an APIM that does support the unreal theme like on the 2025...
Ok, so in terms of the toggle switches that are grayed out, there is no way to fix that due to incompatibilities within the CAN bus network with the Sync 4 APIM. It will require a Genie Max which is an in-house module Infotainment makes for their kits but it will be months before it is ready for...
This. All 2025+ BS use the same IPC which means they all have the same software; the only thing different is the configuration in the vehicle to enable/disable features between the different trim levels and a la cart options a vehicle has. Every single one will need to have the IPC firmware...
It's just a software update. This one is not a big deal. It has to be a "recall" due to the safety implications mentioned, but it's not like this will cause catastrophic mechanical breakdown worthy of any real concern.
IMO, of course.
I got the missing wifi option fixed.
This was fixed by enabling CCS (Customer Connectivity Settings) here in the APIM.
Btw: FORScan added Sync 4 support for the 21-24 Bronco in their latest release. No need for a special test build anymore.
Actually, the vehicle is talking to the cloud. Just ran the VIN through PTS and it reported itself to Ford at 9:42pm which was after I installed the new APIM. Not sure why the icons are red, but the TCU is working. I tried Fordpass and it works, so good to go there.
Some wrinkles need to be ironed out, but it works well overall. It's past 10pm for me, but after I shower and eat, I'm going to plug in my laptop with the test build FORScan sent me and see if I can connect to the APIM and add wifi and see if I can fix a few of the grayed out items.
Interesting. Sounds simple enough.......not sure if any of us ever noticed that. Too late to check now. Hopefully Sync 4 will be up and running tonight.
Well, hopefully the BS will be up and running tonight, too. I miss my truck and my girl is more than happy to put miles on my truck instead...
I wouldn't call it a write-up, but here is the thread when he was working on it:

Are you able to see the bracket without removing the bumper? If not, how would they know it is broken? If your Fordpass is working, message me the VIN so I can pull the codes it is reporting.
@Methodical9 You're in for a fun time. See attached intuctions for front bumper removal and CCM access.
Keep in mind that after you replace the bracket, you will need to calibrate the CCM. You cna do this yourself with FORScan. It requires driving the truck on the highway for x amount of time...
Yea, that is the conclusion I came to, but the cost of the mirrors is not worth it just to gain that function. All you need is the VIN to a Brazil spec car and your local Ford dealers can get the part number and order them.
You mean the clicking and buzzing sounds while it is off and parked? My F150 is worse. It sounds like the modules in my truck are playing a symphony. It kinda freaked me out at first until I learned it was normal behavior.
If you do suspect a draw, you can get some cheap and accurate Bluetooth...
This is my girl's truck and she is struggling with certain things with Sync 3. She cannot access the Sync menu while in CarPlay without unplugging her phone. She has some other complaints about it, but I can't remember what they were. She is familiar with Sync 4 from my F150, so when I asked her...
