I took my mustang to germany and I could drive it as a Canadian soldier, but for a german to own one (landlords son had a 68 vista cruiser wagon, lol) lights and other things had to be adapted (orange blinkers instead of red/must put on blinker light with key off and it leave a park light on to...
HAHA! I started a thread on exactly this and then went scrolling and found this one.
Well to sum up, after driving a bronco and a ranger, the little bit of capability we might get (better break over angle) is nullified by the loss of better mileage, better ride, number of cup holders, place to...
Non badlands doesn't have the skid plates! ? ? ? I wouldn't go anywhere off road with a non badlands! Under the engine is the same felt that's under the belly, RIPS RIGHT OFF (ask how I know, lol)
To each their own, but if you look under and compare a non badlands to a badlands, you'll see what...
So, anyone who's watched my video's knows we love this thing. It is ten times more capable than it gets credit for.
But, the only thing that I don't like is an unfixable problem, breakover angle. We have 10" clearance under the whole vehicle (same minimum as an 02 explorer on 33's) but since the...
AHA!! So I'm not the only one who goes in places you shouldn't! LOL!! If it's questionable, I walk it first and assess...but yup, backed out of many places like that!
All in the name of fun (and good videos)
Glad you liked it, we were out "pre running" a trail with my f-150 after Church today, probably be the next video...Have to go back with the camera's, lol. Should be interesting as I turned my truck around in the middle of the trail because of water and mud, but I know the BS (she calls "baby")...
Are you actually at Ford and would like some constructive criticism?
1) Replace the inner fenders with plastic or something else that sheds mud/snow(this is a MUST fix!),
2) Remove the same "felt" underbody covers with actual full skid plates. The charcoal cannister has a good skid plate as well...
The wife is getting really talented, but she's a little more timid when it comes to newer vehicles, LOL!! In her 02 Explorer (she calls Dora...the explorer)on 33's she's a little more aggressive.
So...everyone else was on 35's or bigger and even a newer toyota on 31's turned around. I got skid plates on everything so I told the wife to "let it eat" but she's a bit more cautious than me. LOL!!!
Enjoy the water fording as well!
Here's a Canadian one on a fellow wheelers jeep, can't find the pic of the one on her bronco sport but its a simple "May run 2023" that all of us on the May 24 mud run got.
When I get the video done you'll see it in that. (it's cyber orange too made specifically for us, lol)
Yeah I’m thinking of giving it a full inspection now that we’re home. Wife took it to work today so all it got was a car wash on the way home. 5hrs there, two days of mud, drove 5hrs home.??
No issues.
Great story, love seeing others out actually off roading too. I’ve posted some pictures in the “snorkel” thread, but we’ve been above the front bumper in water/mud and got the camera wet!
