In order to provide my full thoughts, I'm going to need for it to be fully diagnosed. Otherwise, it really is just spitballing. Apologies. Trust me. No one is more anxious than me.
Torque converter, which I was told would be here as of yesterday, was not received, and now the part is considered 'out of stock' with no ETD.
Service rep says they are trying to make the case for the full transmission then.
I'm not offering anything else at this moment, because I'm...
Update:
Good morning. After a week of sitting at the dealership, for them to have enough mechanic time, to get enough information to put in the warranty claim, we are looking at a possible torque converter, and MAYBE, not the clutch.
However, its still premature, and the transmission hasn't...
I've never had to deal with a major warranty repair like this in my life. Never a better time than the present, I guess.
So on Friday, in the middle of my drive back from the office in the evening, the vehicle began to stall out at stops and very low rpms. I had to restart the vehicle...
I feel ya. I have a pretty decent gapping tool, and I like keeping mine all at the same length also. Maybe its the ocd in me. Since I'm not tuned, I'll probably just do .29 also. Keep it in the middle and allow some room for error and play.
@Mark S. is right. There are pros and cons to short and wide gaps. I just dont want this thread to be about that. There is plenty of info on the internet or maybe even other threads here that address this.
I truly want to have one thread where 2.0 engines can talk about their experience in a...
No offense on previous. Just more interested in experiences. Mine was not a statement, but a quick response to the previous question, without stating what I then had to state to you. Again, not looking to have a debate on the merits of wide vs short gap. Not at all. I just wanna hear about...
How are these holding up?? Still rock solid, even after adding weight? The install is essentially just tapping into the plastic panel behind the liner?? What exactly are the screws tapping?
I think they are a great spot to add extra cargo space for the BS, but I worry, that they'll just fall...
Reduce the chance of a misfire when in WOT. Again, coming from the Mustang 2.3, shortening the gap to as close as possible was "all the rage" if you were tuned. Not saying I want to do that here, but just want a consensus for what people have been doing. I'm not tuned, but I do lay the pedal...
It does. I just like to hear success stories that give my insides warm and fuzzies before I play with something as benign, yet as critical as the spark plug gap. ?
Thank you. These are the types of experiences I was hoping to draw out. People who've swapped them out already by themselves. I'm getting a set of Motorcrafts on order soon. The gaps are usually fairly solid from factory, but its always worth checking.
However, I did have SOLID success in...
I like to stick with Ford Motorcraft, so the SP550X it is, but can anyone confirm for me the manufacturer's gap and has anyone had any success in shortening it?? Google has a variety of answers on the SP550x "factory gap", but since my Mustangs plugs always come plus .30, Im guessing the same...
@aesthet1c Sorry. Just seeing this now. I don't really think the model of the speakers matter, ANY speaker is an upgrade over those thimble size magnet stocks. I think yours and mine are the same except yours are 6 1/2 and mine are 6 3/4. The brackets are correct and yes, you needed them for...
