Road trips is one of the reasons I downsized from my Bronco to the Bronco Sport. Priorities changed and doing a lot of long road trips and the Bronco Sport is much more suited for that IMHO. ?
ouch!
So he’s running the 235 tires which is 29”. I’m running the 245 which is 29.5”. However it appears the Mickey Thompson are a bit larger as they are listed at 29.8”…
tomorrow we’re installing a 1.3” lift. And I did add the mid skid plate. So my clearance should be in the 10.5” ranges...
At some point it’s a matter of trust. If I wanted to I could provide you all kinds of test date. Heck give me a minute and I’ll have ChatGPT generate all kind of test results.
that being said I super happy with my MRT exhaust. Nobody promised me anything… I’m happy. Now I’m going to enjoy...
which is why MRT has NEVER made any performance claims. I’ve been buying exhaust systems from them since 2005. Never once have they claimed any type of gains whatsoever! NEVER. It’s all been customer feedback
Me, however I have a super calibrated Butt Dyno! ?
but seriously I get exactly...
While I didn’t cut the stock muffler open, we did cut a stock Flex EcoBoost muffler open just to see how restrictive it was.
I highlighted the flow through the muffler. It was packed with fiberglass as well. I imagine the Bronco Sport muffler I just as restrictive.
I have tested MRT...
the reason is NVH… Noise, Vibration and Harshness. Ford wants a very quiet ride with absolutely no drone. Could not believe how quiet my BS was even at wide open throttle.
I thought the same thing… if only he had a spotter…. Normally I go out solo… but when I go out with certain people (you know who you are!) there idea of spotting is to yell “just send it already!” ?
looks are really about last on my list of priorities. ?
I wanted a system where the tip is tucked up out of the way not hanging down. Also I believe the straight thru design of the MRT is going to flow better. Other thing is historically Flowmaster uses the lower quality of stainless steel...
So after Saturday’s adventure with the water washing over the hood I decided to take a look at the air box to see how much water got in
at first look the intake looks like it take air in straight through the grill
but that’s not the case. The grill is not open up top
Next I opened the...
yes we used my 2.0 as a test vehicle however MRT had a 1.5 come in and installed the system to verify the fit.
What I’ve learned over the years no two pipes are exactly a like even in the same model. They can be slight variations. Tool wears out a bit, something was aligned slightly...
Ahhh. Didn’t realize you weren’t coming from stock. I seen a significant increase in MPG going from stock to MRT and when I mentioned that I was told no way I seen an increase in MPG , so good to hear I’m not the only one who seen the increase getting rid of the stock muffler
Good review! Although it’s MRT not MTR. ?
One thing to note. The tone will change (for the better) after you put some miles on it. After a couple hundred miles there was a noticeable change.
curious if you track your MPG?
agreed. However… water was deep enough that even at lower speeds the water was washing up over the hood. And yes I did have a moment of panic but at that point I was committed.
Got through it with no sign of pulling any water in as fas as motor stumbling or misfires. Opened the hood and it was...
