Hill Climb with new tires!

so like all videos it doesn’t capture just how steep the hill is. Previously I had tried that particular hill with my 2023 Bronco with mud terrains and couldn’t make it up. The Bronco just seemed to lose momentum and then just dig down. The Sport just seemed to fly up.

I wish they would have given the baby bronco a super low gear instead of a transfer case. The terrain near Phoenix was sand and gravel.

There is a hill where I hunt that was easy when my Falken ATW3's were new, but tougher now that they have 37,000 miles on them. I'll be putting new tires on before my next hunt.

for me I really haven’t needed a super low gear. What I have found is that I’m using manual mode to lock in first gear especially for a hill climb like this with a loose surface. Once the sport shifts it’s over! The sport looses so much power on the shifts and falls on its face… it has a very hard time recovering. So just lock it in first and GO!!!

My OB doesn't have a manual mode. I guess I could just put it in low with the button on the shift knob.

The transmission doesn’t really stay in low once the speed is too high (or so I recall)

Hey fishingjts, where did you find those hills at? I as well live in Michigan looking for places to go to. Also I noticed that you had an MRT license plate cover. I didn't know that they had those available i would've gotten one. They did my exhaust a couple weeks ago

That’s actually a vintage MRT plate cover! We don’t have any of those on hand anymore—pretty much a collector’s item at this point.

I put on KO2s and was able to have a lot of fun around Phoenix. I never did get around to putting on a lift but the tires alone made a huge difference. Check out some of my older videos with the Sport, they're all around AZ.

this is what we always called The Pit when I was much younger. . It is just west of Rose City and north of Rose City road. Of course the big hill is Bull Gap by Mio. I haven’t been there since the ice storm. Need to go back soon.

Yep, I’m guessing that plate cover is close to 20 years old! It has held up amazingly well!

So just over 2 months with my BS. Coming up on 9,000 miles. I’m on my 4th set of tires. I buy a lot of tires so I didn’t feel guilty using the satisfaction guarantee. I had the KO2. I liked them but found them too heavy. I switched to the Mickey Thompson’s. They are lighter and more aggressive. And yes I can feel the weight difference.
