Well it can go a lot of places the Subaru will not. Why I am looking for 1st hand experience. I have a ton of youtube videos and 2nd hand "knowledge" of what it SHOULD do.
I passed up any Bronco that had the moonroof myself, not because I was worried about it leaking but because I use the roof racks and on my Taco I dropped things on that moonroof several times, once I should have broken it and I NEVER once used it... in fact the only time I can remember it being...
I know I will not do "rock crawling" like I could in the Taco. Looking at going to remote camp sites/areas that would have a combo of snow/water/mud. Forest road like areas.
I am looking for 1st hand accounts of anyone that has experienced off road driving that do NOT have the FE or BL editions. I watched a video of a base model keeping up with the big brother Bronco (link below) however in part 2 of that video it did not quite make it all the way, understandably...
I went down to specifically look at the Maverick before I purchased the Bronco Sport and wanted the Hybrid powerplant and the dealer told me that they are not available currently due to supply problems. Not sure if they were 100% correct but they are saying that is what Ford is telling them...
I am getting 31.6MPG currently on my OB (1.5L) which is above sticker also. This is the FIRST Ford I have ever owned that under estimated the MPG (at least on the 1.5L). I did the cluster read AND old fashion pen/paper way and it was within 0.2MPG so I stopped doing the paper way.
My...
It is normal, seals the area. You will never see it however if you really do not like the look you can get some thin carpet/material (Outdoor use) to cover the area. You can also upgrade to a full size tire which will use up more of that space.
I did look at those and the Yoko's next to each other and liked the Yoko design better. Someday I may downsize my wheel to a 17" and when/if I do I will do AT3's. I think you guys are missing some customers though in the R18 category.
Can you give us an update on how/if the mud flaps* affect your off road capabilities. I am curious if it hinders it drastically for your "normal" or "average" trail driving.
*Edited to make more clear on mud flaps
I am comparing the 1.5 to the 2020 Tacoma I had, not my F150 2.7 twin turbo... because that twin turbo will do laps around the 1.5 without breaking a sweat. However if you put the 1.5 into sport mode to merge into Hwy traffic on those on ramps that are only 20 feet long it will get there in...
Another PNW here, I went with the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 as they came in the 235 R18 size after doing a lot of research I am hoping they will perform as good on road as the AT3's. So far with the rain we have had they perform just as good in the rain even after a long dry spell where the...
Yeah if I had R17 I could get the AT3W's, love those tires. Had 285/70R17 on my Tacoma and did a lot off off road driving with those and they never let me down.
The 30+ MPG is probably on the 1.5, as I am getting 31.6 MPG right now in normal mode 70% Highway/30 City with some pretty big hills on that drive (Going up in the AM and going down in the PM).
I have not done any Mountain driving yet, other then the ones around my land. Seems to handle them...
I have used the Falken Wildpeak A/T3w on my last 3 trucks and loved them, unfortunately it does not seem they are made for the tires sizes on the Bronco Sport... any chance that may change in the future? 235/60R18 is the size I am running.
The great thing about turbo engines is that the power band hits low and keeps a steady curve on way up so while the overall engine is "small" the power can be quite big.
This is my 4th turbo from Ford (2 F150's both with 2.7 twin turbo's, Escape with turbo, and now BS) and I feel Ford has...
