Fair enough, gents. It is cosmetic only.
Hopefully, the spaghetti underneath will be less attractive to the rodents too.

While I do believe that dealerships are the customer-facing representatives for Ford, any hostility shouldn't be directed at the dealer as FoMoCo was the culprit in this case.
The 2.5L/Hybrid package is more refined and proven than the 1.5 Turbo 3-cylinder wet timing belt powerplant, albeit it is only a FWD option. If you're one to drive the wheels off of it, odds are you'll have a less expensive path to 300K.
The early Escape Hybrids racked up 300K-500K in NYC...
Looks like a convoluted mess, a bowl of spaghetti. Needs a cover.
Perhaps they thought that this might be an unnoticed/forgivable omission. Makes you wonder what other corners they're cutting.
Needed or not, is arguable.
Someone not familiar with the design or studied the cover's functionality isn't qualified to dismiss it as "flash" or merely cosmetic. It may be, but at minimum, it protects the nooks and crannies from dust and grime. Ever live in an area with heavy pollen?

I'm wondering what Ford is doing with the continued product roll-outs...
They had the big Bronco supplier issues, then still rolled the Bronco Sport out mid-pandemic with the supply issues already known, then even after that catastrophe, they roll out the Maverick. Those poor suckers...
Very surprised to hear this Osco, you have been heralding your Sport since picking it up in December. I understand your position.
Ford's situation is concerning, with all of the product launches and a greatly diminished workforce to supply, build, and transport them, it may become burdensome...
Been around a lot of bodywork, a friend was a dealer body shop manager and another friend restores classic Mopars. While I agree with what 69cuda340 wrote regarding what can be done regarding repairs, you're not going to get show-car restorative work at a dealership's bodyshop, it just takes...
Hopefully, that's the case. It presents a bit like a race condition.
Definition:
Race Condition (Software) Race condition in software is an undesirable event that can happen when multiple entities access or modify shared resources in a system. The system behaves correctly when these entities...
They're all affected, but especially Ford.
